1 injured in boat explosion, firefighters say

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is investigating an explosion and fire on a boat on the Susquehanna River. Emergency dispatchers say crews were called to the 1900 block of Water Street in Washington Boro just after 10:30 p.m. Friday. Police say one person suffered burns and was taken to hospital Emergency crews extinguished the fire and installed containment around the boat to help absorb any remaining fuel/hazard from floating down the river .Pa. Fish and Boat Commission communications director Mike Parker said the boat was tied to a dock along the Susquehanna River at the time of the incident and the cause of the explosion is unknown. For now. He added that the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission is working with the Manor Township Police and local fire departments who responded to the incident and are awaiting reports from those agencies as part of the investigation.
