Moye was hospitalized for over two weeks until her death. Jefferson County school officials said Moye led the cheerleading team and won second place in the Miss Seventh Grade pageant.
Her classmates and community members wore pink to honor her with a vigil earlier this month.
It is unclear whether the charges against Mincey will be improved. The sheriff’s office did not provide details on what led up to the shooting.
