Given the country’s economic situation, you really can’t blame anyone for leaving Nigeria in search of greener pastures, and Nigerian celebrities are no exception to this trend.
In this article, Naija News takes a look at some of your favorite stars who still live and work in Nigeria but have families living abroad.

Mr. Latin
1. Mr. Latin: Comic Yoruba Nollywood actor Bolaji Amusan, commonly known as Mr Latin, resides in Abeokuta, Ogun State, but his wife Ronke and two children live in Dublin, Ireland.
The actor, who is currently the President of the Theater Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, has a special love for his wife and makes no secret of it.
Mr. Latin married Ronke in 1999 and their relationship has continued to develop over the years.

sanyeri
2. sanyeri: Yoruba actor Olaniyi Afonjo, also known as Sanyeri, is a household name mostly for his humorous roles in films. However, despite his on-screen antics, Sanyeri is a man who wants to raise his family and give them opportunities.
The actor’s beautiful wife, Omolara, and their two sons, Boluwatife and Olasunkanmi, live in Canada.

Georgina Onuoha
3. Georgina Onuoha: The Nollywood actress gave up acting and moved to the United States a few years ago. The single mother of two is one of the few to have left Nollywood and is still thriving.
Georgina broke the news of owning a home in the United States in 2020.

4. Omoni Oboli: It’s been over 15 years since the talented actress and producer moved to Canada with her family.
The mother of four often comes home to shoot her blockbuster films and to go back to her family in her free time.

Okunnu
5. Okunnu: He started his acting career in 1984 and has become a household name in the Yoruba film industry.
Despite the easy-going character he frequently plays in films, Okunnu never jokes about his family’s well-being.
His three children Jumoke, Hassan and Modupe and his wife Wumi live in Canada.

Timi Dakolo
6. Timi Dakolo: Timi Dakolo is married to a photographer, Busola, and they are blessed with three children, Alexander, Zoe and Hallel. Their marriage has had its fair share of lawsuits, most notably in 2019 when Busola accused a popular Nigerian pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, of raping her in Kwara State many years ago.
Lately, many of her social media posts have suggested that Busola and the children have moved to the UK.
While Bukola is said to be attending a university in the UK for further education, the children are said to have started school there as well.
Earlier this year, Timi Dakolo joked that his daughter Hallel had developed an accent barely two weeks after returning to school in her new country of residence.
