Authorize Solano to Host Small Business Month Celebration Honoring Five Local Businesses – Times-Herald

Empower Solano will host a ceremony Wednesday to honor small businesses that have successfully transitioned during the pandemic and continued to serve the community safely, including Bay Hauling of Vallejo and its owner Juan Vallejos.

Five companies will be highlighted at the event and their owners will receive certificates of appreciation from the offices of US Congressman John Garamendi, California Sen. Bill Dodd and California Rep. Lori D. Wilson.

Director of the California Office of Small Business Advocates Tara Lynn Gray will be the keynote speaker.

“We want to pay tribute to small businesses that have done an extraordinary job over the past three years to keep their doors open and serve the public in unprecedented circumstances,” said K. Patrice Williams, Empower Solano executive and Fairfield City Councilman. “The event will also be a great opportunity for anyone involved in business or starting a business to network and gain valuable insight into the resources available to them at the county and state level.” Williams will act as the master of ceremonies at the celebration.

In addition to Bay Hauling of Vallejo, the ceremony also honored: Journey Coffee of Fairfield and Vacaville and company owners Morne and Nicole Van Staden; Two60 Kitchen and Bar of Fairfield and owner Molly Tau; Marina Lounge by Suisun City and owner Elease Cheek; and Tomorrow House Supportive Living, located in Fairfield and owned by Duke and Gabrielle Phillippe-Auguste.

The event will take place at the Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center, 500 Chadbourne Road, Fairfield on Wednesday from 10am. The public is invited and business owners, entrepreneurs and anyone wishing to start a business are encouraged to attend. Admission is free.

Tim Murrill, executive director of the Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center, will also speak during the celebration. City officials from across the county and representatives from local chambers of commerce are invited. Drinks are served.
