AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Ithaca College baseball team wrapped up their spring break trip to Florida on Saturday with a 5-2 loss to 11th Rowan University at Lake Myrtle Park. Ithaca will return to New York with an overall record of 7-6.

Rowan on the board at the top of the first night and never gave up the lead as an outfield error gave the Profs a 1-0 lead.

A two-run homer for Rowan extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning, but IC answered with a run in the bottom half on an RBI single from Garrett Callaghan, which brought in Riley Brawdy.

Rowan would score twice more in the fourth inning against Colin Leyner as a pair of sacrificed flies made it a 5-1 game.

IC’s final inning of the contest went through the plate in the seventh inning as Louis Fabbo drove Ethan Daddabbo down with a hit.

Brawdy and Fabbo, along with Gil Merod, all had two hits in the loss.

Leyner pitched 7.0 innings and allowed four earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Erislandy Rives pitched the last two innings of relief and struck out a batter.

Ithaca is scheduled to play Scranton at home on March 22 at 3 p.m.
