Burglars target Pilot’s Co guest house rooms, escape with gadgets | Gurgaon News

Gurgaon: A commercial pilot’s room at his company’s guest house in Sector 38 was broken into on Sunday.
Police said the scoundrel fled with lakhs’ worth of electronic equipment, including two laptops, two iPads, three mobile phones and a smartwatch.
“I’ve been living in the company’s guest house for three months. On Sunday evening my colleague and I studied for our simulator training, after which we went to sleep around 6am. About 40 minutes later, when I woke up, I noticed the front door was open and when I searched the house, I found the electronics were missing. I immediately alerted my colleague,” the complainant told police.
He told police the door was closed but not locked and the defendant must have easily snuck into the room.
“I raised the matter with the receptionist and called our company representatives. The electronic articles were provided by the company and contained a lot of important data,” he added.
Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered against the unidentified malefactor under Section 380 (Theft from within a building, tent or ship) of the Indian Penal Code at Sadar Police Station.
“We are reviewing footage from the surveillance cameras installed in the building to identify and catch the accused at the earliest,” Gurgaon Police Spokesman Subhash Boken said.
