Carousell launches new program to encourage young entrepreneurs

To celebrate 10 years of supporting entrepreneurs, Carousell today (September 1) announced the launch of #StartonCarousell.
Launched in August, #StartonCarousell aims to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs and is Carousell’s first regional program aimed at helping young entrepreneurs – under the age of 25 – bring their businesses to life.
Inspired by the true stories of carousel traders and their quest for financial freedom, this program aims to provide them with the tools, hands-on experience, and guidance they need to get started.

This includes training the Carousell team on how to use seller tools to grow their business, as well as an exclusive panel discussion and coffee chats with established mentors such as Carousell’s co-founder and CEO Quek Siu Rui; Love, Rachel Lim, Bonito Co-Founder; Crystal Widjaja, Kumu Chief Product Officer; and Joel Leong, co-founder of ShopBack.
The program also offers other benefits to help participants start their own carousel shop, such as: B. S$135 seller tools with onboarding to grow their business, a free product photoshoot for the top 10 business proposals and S$1,550 equity funding for the top three winners.
“We can’t wait to see how this unfolds, meeting and sharing ideas with aspiring entrepreneurs from across the region through our mentoring sessions,” said Quek.
He also recounts Carousell’s momentous journey over the past decade. They’ve been privileged to serve tens of millions of users across the region, with Carousell shaping the way people come together to buy and sell and connect with each other.
“We’ve seen how our platform empowers users to realize their own passions and aspirations, and it’s been a most fulfilling validation of our mission to inspire the world to start selling and buying,” he adds.
Interested applicants can register for the open call for applications #StartonCarousell until September 7 here.
