History BOCA RATON, Fla. — In anticipation of inclement weather on Sunday, the Florida Atlantic University Owls took to the field Saturday to set up a doubleheader with Conference USA member Charlotte. The Owls defeated the 49ers in Game 1 4-0 and were one out of a double sweep, but saw Charlotte win the nine-setter 3-2.

Gabby Sacco took the circle and continued her march through March holding Charlotte to just two hits and no runs. Sacco is 10-2 this season and holds a 1.08 ERA and a 0.00 C-USA ERA. She allowed just two runs, both earned, in 34 innings of work in March.

While holding the 49ers at bay, the offense got to work scoring a run, a home run from Oliva Peterson, in the fifth inning and scored three more runs in the sixth for the game’s 4-0 finale. .
