Google Search Labs launches generative AI for select users in the US
As you may already know, AI has been making headlines in recent months. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to end anytime soon. Google has conducted various tests on its Bard AI platform, one of which is generative AI for its Google Chrome browser via Search Labs.
Recently, Google announced that it is opening limited access to Search Labs. This is an early access program for Google experiments like Search Generative Experience (SGE), Code Tips and Add to Sheets. It is currently only available to US users. However, you can sign up for a waitlist using the Google app or Chrome desktop browser.
After signing up, users can try the new AI-powered generative search. While a normal Google search spits out a results page with search links, generative AI provides additional information such as factors. In the example provided, the AI provided some factors that users should consider when choosing a new product. Generative AI also promises to help users understand topics faster and quickly uncover information on specific questions.
In short, you can think of Generative AI as a system that improves your web search experience. Of course, we won’t know how accurate or useful it might be until we try it. With that in mind, would you try Google Search Labs if it becomes available here? Please let us know in the comments below!
