Hops on the Ohio returns to Owensboro Riverside in August

Chart by Owensboro Times

Hops on the Ohio, an event celebrating Kentucky craft beers, will return to the Owensboro Riverside on August 12, this time moving the venues to the Owensboro Convention Center.

From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., patrons can browse the Convention Center’s waterfront exhibit hall and pier and sample beer from a wide selection of local and hard-to-find national brands. Guests can also enjoy local musicians and talent and partake in many other forms of entertainment.

“Guests have four hours to experience different Kentucky and regional breweries,” said one of the organizers, Cody Anderson. “We just want to celebrate Kentucky beer culture.”

The breweries will offer various ciders and seltzers, while the Green River Distillery and a regional winery will also be present for those who don’t fancy beer. Admission to the event is $45 and comes with 30 5-ounce drink tickets. Admission for designated drivers is $10.

Anderson said moving to the Convention Center gives them more space to grow the event.

“We just moved down the river so the name still fits,” Anderson said. “We knew we wanted to stay on the river near the growing downtown craft beer scene.”
