Illinois State, Eastern Illinois Sunday game canceled

NORMAL, Ill. — The Illinois State baseball team attempted to sneak into a game against Eastern Illinois this weekend, but the three-game series was completely wiped out as Sunday’s game, which had been pushed back at 3 p.m. The CT starts earlier Saturday morning, has been canceled due to weather.

Missouri Valley Conference policy requires a wind chill factor of at least 28 degrees.

Illinois State’s schedule is now down to 52 games with room to add four games to reach the maximum of 56. The ‘Birds added a 6-1 win over Western Illinois Wednesday as weekend weather loomed, but the ISU had games against Nebraska (3/12) and Eastern Illinois (3/17-19) canceled due to weather conditions. The original ISU schedule had 55 games.

Illinois State is scheduled to face Minnesota of the Big Ten on Tuesday (5:00 p.m. CT) and Wednesday (1:00 p.m. CT) at Duffy Bass Field.
