According to a post, other women booked her services and kept her busy throughout the month
Madrigal’s interest in car detailing began with a desire to make her own cars look beautiful.
“For the past few years I’ve talked about wanting to make it big, but this year, actually this month, I kind of nailed it that I really want to do it,” Madrigal said.
She used various resources to learn how to detail cars.
“I studied a lot from other detailers around the world and followed a number of sites and listened to podcasts about using great products and stuff like that,” Madrigal said.
She has used these skills to open her business and break into a male-dominated industry.
“I definitely have an urge to do things that people say women shouldn’t or couldn’t do,” Madrigal said.
According to an UpCity survey of 400 U.S. women entrepreneurs, the number one reason women start businesses is because women want to be in control of their schedules.
“It would definitely help to just have my own schedule and take the days off that I need,” Madrigal said.
According to the same survey, 46% of respondents started their business on the side while continuing to work full-time.
“I still work full-time at a construction company, so this is my part-time job until I can get more clients and get my name out there,” Madrigal said.
She posted on a women’s Facebook group in Lexington, which grew her business. Because of this post, she is fully booked for the rest of the month.
“I’ve had a few people reach out to me, which is great because I love seeing women supporting women,” Madrigal said.
