North Carolina Lottery Player Wins $1.1 Million Fast Play Jackpot, Biggest in Gaming History

A lucky Carteret County lottery player who tried his luck on a Fast Play ticket on Saturday morning, March 11, 2023 won the biggest Fast Play jackpot in history at $1,120,665, according to a press release from the North Carolina Education Lottery.

The grand prize winner purchased the $20 100X The Cash ticket from Handy House #2 on US 70 in Smyrna.

At the time of purchase, the jackpot stood at $920,665. Since it was a $20 ticket, the winner receives 100% of the jackpot of $920,665 plus $200,000 in cash.

The previous high for a Fast Play jackpot win was $691,417 in November 2020. The previous high for the jackpot amount was in January 2021 when it reached $747,482 before a jackpot win claimed half of this amount.

The odds of winning a Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 320,000. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize from the lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

Fast Play features a jackpot that grows instantly with every ticket sold until won.
