Obscenity case aimed at preventing Barnes & Noble from selling two books to minors dismissed by judge | Ap
A Virginia Beach Circuit Court judge on Tuesday dismissed an attempt to declare two books obscene and unsuitable for children.
Judge Pamela Baskervill found that Maia Kobabe’s “Gender Queer: A Memoir” and Sarah J. Maas’ “A Court of Mist and Fury” are not obscene under state law. At the trial, she also raised concerns about due process by not notifying all parties that could be affected by a decision in the case.
