PWR signed a deal allowing them to operate the Historical Texan Theater in Cleveland, Texas. As the current movies are dying out in a single screen cinema, the current owner thought about what to do with the cinema. Shows were no longer sold out; Seats remain empty and the film business is no longer profitable. PWR owner Curt Smith found a way to keep The Texan operating and not lose the historic site. Instead of converting it for retail or offices, PWR leased the building to now convert it into a concert hall and events venue.
The last films will take place in the theater on September 8, 2022; after that, PWR takes over and begins the conversion of operations. The grand reopening of the new PWR Texan Theater will take place on November 5, 2022. More information on the grand reopening will be announced soon! PWR plans to host events throughout the week, with headlining concerts on Saturdays. Plans for Comic Relief Nights and more are currently in the making. Event and show releases will come out in the next 7-10 days and at that time ticket sales will also be available for purchase on the PWR website, pwrpromotions.com.
The changes are minor but include available VIP seating on the balcony and the first three rows in front of the stage seating area. The balcony concession sales area, as well as beer and wine sales, will be available once full theater license approval is complete.
PWR is proud to make this happen in such a historic theater, something that has been done in cities across Texas and beyond, Huntsville, Conroe, Houston, Dayton are just a few that have transitioned in the same vein. All of these venues have had great success and are a fun venue for events. Show hours are 7am to 10am for normal event shows and doors open at 5pm on show nights.
