Scattered thunderstorms and colder air dip in central Florida for the weekend
ORLANDO, Fla. — Major changes are heading to Sunshine State. The weather will be quite different in central Florida at times, with areas southeast of I-4 reaching the upper 80s while areas northwest will drop into the post-lunch 60s. All of central Florida will be windy and mostly cloudy. Wind gusts will be around 20 to 30 mph on Saturday.

Temperatures will begin to drop for the remainder of the afternoon as the cold front responsible for the rain passes. In front of the front, it will still be in the mid-80s.

Cooler air is also moving south through Saturday afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms move southeast of I-4 in the early evening.

Brevard and Osceola will still keep some heat for the last stages of the evening.

Temperatures will be a little more even on Sunday, but there will be a split over who might see some bonus sunshine before clouds and rain return for everyone.

Areas northwest of Orlando and Sanford have the best chance of enjoying the sun while areas to the south will likely remain cloudy. It is here that temperatures will struggle to climb out of the 50s to reach afternoon highs. With the help of that bonus sun, areas north of Orlando could have a run into the mid-60s.
Either way, it will be very chilly all over central Florida on Sunday.
The chance of widespread rain returns Sunday evening and continues for the Monday morning drive. General Sun 0.25″ to 1″ returns on Tuesday with the 80s returning for the middle of next week.
