Synkrato combines digital warehouse twins with artificial intelligence

Synkrato (booth N6256) will present its Digital Twin and AI-driven logistics solutions at ProMat 2023. Synkrato, the next generation logistics platform with digital twin, mobility, digital labeling and AI-driven logistics (slotting), announced a major update to its digital twin and slotting solutions. The update allows Synkrato users to connect a storage digital twin to the slotting engine and perform slotting and re-slotting with digital twins.

“We believe the key to supply chain resilience and innovation lies in the simplification of transformative technologies. Businesses are looking for solutions that streamline operations without requiring a high level of IT skills, said Amin Sikander, President of Synkrato. “Managing slotting algorithms in a spreadsheet is a labor-intensive, error-prone process, especially when there is a lot of inventory going in and out. By connecting Synkrato Digital Twin with the adaptive slotting algorithm, companies gain real-time storage efficiency through a user-friendly interface.”

After users create a digital twin, the latest version of Synkrato automatically provides recommendations on where to find, store, and move inventory around a warehouse. According to Sikander, “Both warehouse space and labor availability are becoming scarce in some areas of the United States. The lack of warehouse space, rising rents and capacity constraints mean that companies are looking for ways to make the most of their existing industrial space. Additionally, low inventory visibility and poor pickup routes require extra work to prepare orders at a time when warehouse workers are difficult to find. This software update helps companies optimize their available resources.”

Synkrato’s dynamic digital twin sends real-time data such as inventory location, distances, sales history, staff and stock levels to Slotting. The slotting algorithm then uses this data to provide real-time, rolling slot recommendations for all incoming and outgoing orders. This integration simplifies slotting and supports an agile strategy by removing bottlenecks, recommending optimal picking paths, and optimizing storage.

“Imagine a warehouse with a single staging area and three inventory storage zones. The price of transporting inventory to the staging area is proportional to distance, so the shortest distance has the lowest transport cost. Synkrato provides product stocking recommendations based on sales history, forecast and staging distance to reduce costs and order preparation time, all through the digital twin interface,” said Jason Mancuso, Synkrato Product Director.

ProMat 2023 took place March 20-23 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The show showcases the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the materials handling and logistics industries. Modern’s full coverage of the show.
