The Elloree Business Association brings more business to the city

ELLOREE, SC – The Elloree Business Association brings people to local storefronts through Family Fun Fridays and other activities.

“It’s a cute little town. We call it our charming little cotton town.”

This is how Marti Stubbs describes her hometown of Elloree. She has lived and worked here for over twenty years and her antique shop Junk Disorderly has stood the test of time on Cleveland Street.

“I think I’ve become a fixture here. I’m the grandma of the street, I guess, because I’ve been on the street longer than most,” Stubbs said.

Her business opened in 2004 and over those two decades she has seen many businesses come and go.

“I’m glad I’m here. I don’t know where else I would be. I feel like God put me here,” Stubbs said.

The Elloree Business Association has been working to bring people to Elloree businesses. One way they do this is with Family Fun Nights on the third Friday of each month, which feature food, vendors, and games. Local shops also have extended opening hours until 20:00

“As people come in and fill the parking lots, they’ll notice the stores, and we can advertise the stores that way, too,” Marshall said.

The nonprofit organization enlists business owners to support them and the surrounding community.
