The MTN Foundation awards N40 million in equipment grants to young entrepreneurs

After successfully training 3,000 young Nigerian entrepreneurs in ICT and business skills in partnership with Meta, Google and Microsoft, the MTN Foundation awarded some of the winners N40 million in equipment grants.
The equipment grants, worth N40 million, will be awarded to the top 200 entrants to support young entrepreneurs’ businesses.
Speaking to the grantees, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, MTN Nigeria, Omasan Ogisi said, “For us at MTN, it is an honor to be a part of your story and we are all here today to recognize your hard work and commitment. You’re in the top 200 of the 3,000 young entrepreneurs we train, and that’s no small feat.
“We hope that what little we have contributed to your company in the form of education and equipment grants will give you a step forward in your journey to an amazing future.”
Also expressing his appreciation during the event, Abidoye Olaniyan, a content author and one of the fellows, said, “The training was very effective. We learned a lot from Meta, Microsoft and Google. Today I am receiving a laptop from the MTN Foundation and I am very grateful as this will help scale my business.”
MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training, designed for young entrepreneurs aged 18-35, has trained over 7,000 Nigerian youth in over 10 states in Nigeria including; States of Oyo, Kano, Imo, Nasarawa, Rivers, Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Lagos, Cross River, Anambra, Kogi, Jigawa and Adamawa.
