Battlefield 2042 Season 2: Master of Arms launches today (30th August) and EA Dice has provided everything players need to know in the patch notes.
Master of Arms is a huge update that not only introduces new weapons and gadgets, but also a new map, a specialist, a Battle Pass, and a feature called Contracts.
With update 2.0, players can experience Stranded, the new map set in Panama featuring a drained desert lake and a stranded container ship where teams compete against each other.
“We built Stranded from the ground up to be a smaller level with its own CQC [close quarters combat] space,” the developer explained. The map is divided into three areas, north and south are more open, while in the central area the CQC chaos will take place.
Alongside a new map, players can get their hands on new specialist Charlie Crawford. Crawford uses the stationary Mounted Vulcan minigun, which develops firepower that is effective against infantry and light vehicles. His main trait is Cache Point, which he can use to replenish his gadget ammo for revived friends.
The Season 2 Battle Pass brings 100 new tiers of hardware, cosmetic and player card items to earn, as well as new gameplay content such as the new Specialist available as part of the free tiers.
Among the new content, this season’s new vehicle is the EBLC-RAM, designed as a “hit-and-run” assault truck equipped with an active protection system to intercept incoming anti-vehicle weapons. New weapons and gadgets include the AM40 assault rifle, Avancys light machine gun, PF51 pistol and concussion grenade.
Battlefield 2042 also introduces a new feature called Contracts. These are missions that unlock specific hardware or gameplay content from a previous season. You can see the full list of patch notes here.
