The three-day Forest Hills Festival kicks off Saturday in St. Michael | entertainment

ST. MICHAEL, Pa. – Family and community will be available at the annual Forest Hills Festival.

The three-day event takes place Saturday through Monday at Berwind Wayside Festival Park, Route 869, St. Michael.

Festival opening hours are Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 10pm and Monday from 11am to 5pm.

The Adams Township Volunteer Fire Department #2 is in charge of the festival.

Paul Kundrod, chief of the fire department, said the festival offers good food and a hometown atmosphere.

“We have a nice festival and keep it affordable for people,” he said.

“We look forward to another good year for craft and food vendors.”

The arts and crafts fair features more than 120 booths with vendors selling candles, garden signs, jewelry, clothing, artwork and seasonal outdoor signage and displays.

Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the fire station opposite the festival site.

The all-you-can-eat menu, which includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, and other breakfast favorites, is available for $10.

“It’s a festival favorite and the response to breakfast has been fantastic,” Kundrod said.

“We see that the majority of people will then go to the event across the street.”

About 25 food vendors from local churches and civic groups serve hot sausages, hamburgers, Mexican dishes, freshly cut fries, skewers, apple dumplings and sundaes.

Musical entertainment for Saturday will be Freedom Rocks at 11am, Hard Rok, KoKo & Joe at 3pm and The Wednesdays at 7pm

At 2:00 p.m., the Forest Hills School District will host a parade to unveil the new ranger mascot.

Sunday will feature Bazooka Joe Acoustic at 11am, Russell Wilburn at 2:30pm and Three of Hearts at 6pm

Fireworks will light up the sky at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

“We think it’s one of the best shows in Cambria County and people come for it,” Kundrod said.

“It’s a phenomenal show.”

Le Dance Academy performs Monday at 10am, followed by Tombstone at 12:30pm and Johnstown Button Box at 3pm

Bingo will be offered in the social hall and there will be activities for children.

“This is a family-oriented festival with great entertainment, a wide variety of food, good activities and vendors bringing quality products,” Kundrod said.

“It is a pleasant time.”
