LAHASKA, PA – Karen Thompson, a small business owner in Bucks County, knows firsthand how much persistence it takes to start and run a business as a woman.
What started as a small shop called Lace Silhouettes Lingerie, a Lahaska store specializing in elevating women through beautiful, personal pieces, has grown into LSL, a successful multi-store brand with locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey .

“International Women’s Month is a time for reflection and celebration,” said Thompson. “Women have been able to achieve so much and this month is all about remembering those who paved the way for future generations and celebrating all the achievements women continue to conquer every day.”
Thompson and her team wore white and denim on March 10th in celebration of the month and the long history of women paving the way.
In addition, the company donated $1,000 to The Salvation Army’s Female Emergency Shelter Fund (SAFES), a sector of The Salvation Army dedicated to supporting women who support domestic violence, homelessness and women at risk of homelessness.
This month is especially important for women-led businesses like Lace Silhouettes Lingerie as it is a time not only for them to reflect on their own journey, but for other women who need support.
Looking back, Thompson says, “I’m grateful for what my team and I have achieved to date and I look forward to not only the future of our company, but the future of all women.”
For more than 35 years, Thompson and her team have been committed to making a difference in the community and it is their mission to empower others through philanthropic giving and events.
Through donations like these, Thompson and her team hope to inspire other women to take risks and pursue their dreams. Thompson hopes that her story and support can help others take that leap to greatness and pave a brighter future for themselves and others.
