Tom Brady tries to “figure out life”.

The 45-year-old quarterback, who has son John, 14, with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9, with his wife Gisele Bundchen, returned from his Tampa team after an 11-day absence from The Bay Buccaneers are playing their first and only preseason game on Saturday (08/27/22) and have now addressed the reasons for his almost two-week absence.

He told reporters: “Everyone has different situations that they deal with and we all face unique challenges in our lives.

“I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of shit going on, so you just have to try to understand life as best you can. You know, it’s an ongoing process.”

Earlier this month, NFL team head coach Todd Bowles explained that Tom was away to attend to “personal matters.”

He said: “Tom was excused today. He’ll be… he’ll be back somewhere in Tennessee. He will take care of some personal things.

“It’s something we talked about before the training camp started. We allocated that time because he wanted to come in and get chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp knowing he wasn’t going to play the first two games. He didn’t want to take any reps away from Blaine [Gabbert] and Kyle [Trask] as well as ‘handle’ [Ryan Griffin] as far as going into these next two games. And he has to deal with that.

“We trust him. We talked about it. It was planned well before training camp and he won’t be here until after Tennessee.

The manager declined to say more about the athlete’s absence, stressing it was a “personal issue” but insisting he had a “fairly high” level of confidence that Tom would be back and ready for the season opener on June 11 .September.

Tom announced in February that he was retiring from the NFL, but just two months later he admitted he’d changed his mind and decided to play another season with the Buccaneers.

He tweeted at the time: “In the last two months I’ve realized that my place is still on the field and not in the stands.

“That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates and I love my supportive family. You make everything possible. I’m coming back to Tampa for my 23rd season.”
