Women’s Curling World Championship 2023: all results, scores and tables

The 2023 Women’s Curling World Championship will be held in Sandviken, Sweden.

From March 18th to 26th, 13 of the best women’s curling teams from all over the world will fight for the world crown.

The week-long tournament begins with a round-robin phase in which all teams play each other once.

The top six teams at the end of the round-robin stage advance to the playoffs. First and second place finishers receive a bye to the semifinals, while third, fourth, fifth and sixth place teams compete in semifinal qualifiers.

In the playoff games, the third-placed team plays the sixth, while the fourth- and fifth-placed teams play each other. The winner of these two games advances to the semi-finals.

The winners of the semifinals then meet in the finals to contest the world title, while the other two teams compete in a bronze medal match.

The 13 teams participating in the tournament are Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye and United States of America.

Defending champions Switzerland scored two wins from two on the opening day after a six-point return saw them lead to an 11-2 win over Olympic silver medalists Japan. Canada made an impressive comeback with a double takeout in the tenth end and defeated Sweden 9-4.

Sweden got off to a stormy start, beating World Cup debutants New Zealand 14-2 in six finals, while defending champions Switzerland got off to a flying start with a 7-5 win over the United States.
