The Stanly County Planning Board’s June meeting will address issues such as minimum lot sizes, adult entertainment areas, rezoning and temporary RV trailers.

The Planning Committee will meet on June 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Gene McIntyre Meeting Room at Stanly Commons and will discuss a text change regarding minimum lot sizes in the Residential/Agricultural District (R/A).

The proposed change would require parcels in the R/A to be at least 40,000 square feet if water and sewerage are unavailable. The amendment would establish a minimum area of 30,000 square feet for lots where water and sewerage are available.

Lots in the R10 and R20 districts would also be limited to a minimum area of 15,000 and 20,000 square feet, respectively.

Also on the agenda for the meeting is a proposal for a conservation subdivision and discussions on property sizing.

Another text change would allow temporary use of camper trailers on construction sites at a person’s primary residence.

Another text change further defines where an adult facility and live adult entertainment can take place under the zoning ordinance.

One rededication on hand with the Planning Board is a request by Burleson Development to rededicate a 28-lot subdivision at 20239 Running Creek Church Road in Locust.
