New partnership brings artificial intelligence to DoorDash Mart

SAN FRANCISCO — DoorDash is expanding its technology toolbox to serve its DashMart locations.

The delivery service implements RELEX Solutions’ artificial intelligence (AI)-based supply chain planning solution to serve its convenience store concept. With the pact, RELEX will use machine learning to create forecasts that optimize product availability.

“We are excited to partner with DoorDash to automate and streamline forecasting and replenishment for their DashMart locations,” said Carlos Victoria, Senior Vice President, Sales Americas at RELEX. “We look forward to working with DoorDash to further drive accuracy and efficiency in their supply chain operations.”

San Francisco-based DoorDash launched DoorDash Mart in mid-2020 as a new breed of c-store offering both household items and local restaurant favorites right at customers’ doorsteps. Initially, the concept was rolled out in eight cities: Chicago; Cincinnati; Columbus, OH; Dallas; Minneapolis; Salt Lake City; the greater Phoenix area; and Redwood City, California.

DoorDash has since expanded its DoorDash Mart product range. Earlier this year, it launched Accelerator for Local Goods, an educational program aimed at nurturing local consumer packaged goods businesses owned by women entrepreneurs who are women, transgender, immigrant or people of color.

The DoorDash Accelerator for Local Goods program is a six-week live and self-paced course developed in partnership with Next Street, a mission-driven small business solutions company, covering six topics including supply chain management, wholesale supplier relationship management, cash flow management and business development .

In addition to the educational component, attendees will receive a $5,000 stipend to support their business needs, access to DoorDash marketing and sales support, and a guarantee to sell their products through DashMart.
