The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission expects the turnpike to be busy over Memorial Day weekend. The tollway expects more than 2.1 million motorists to use the road through Monday, marking a 3.8% increase from last year. Friday is expected to be the busiest day Here are the estimates for each day: Friday May 26 – 680,000 vehicles Saturday May 27 – 510,000 vehicles Sunday May 28 – 475,000 vehicles Monday May 29 – 495,000 vehicles The Turnpike Commission said that ‘there will be an increased number of patrols and security teams to help ensure people get to their destinations safely. This could mean responding to travelers in need of assistance, as well as taking action against illegal or dangerous driving.
