The new foldable Huawei arrives in SA

The Huawei Mate Xs 2, the refresh of the smartphone maker’s flagship, is available in South Africa from today.
With an enhanced user experience, more immersive big screens, and more powerful innovative interactions, Huawei has strengthened its reputation for technological innovation. The Xs 2’s falcon wing hinge technology and foldable aesthetic form also point the way to future smartphone form factors.
Thanks to its lightweight materials, the Mate Xs 2 has an ultra-light and ultra-thin body that weighs only 255g with a thickness of 5.4mm, which is almost the weight of a standard smartphone on the market. The look is different: a 3D fiberglass design combines aesthetics, colors and textures.
The Xs 2 features an industry-first composite screen that absorbs shock and acts as a buffer thanks to strong steel developed by Huawei. This shock barrier not only improves the phone’s resistance to bumps, crushes or falls, but also further enhances the device’s durability and reliability.
The handset uses the innovative graphene heat dissipation technology with good thermal conductivity. A Vapor Chamber (VC) structure increases heat dissipation efficiency and performance, keeping the device cool.
New dynamic themes have been developed to provide a smooth unfolding experience from a software perspective as well. A smart multi-window enhances multitasking ability for highly efficient interaction, while a floating window swipe gesture enables smooth multi-window control.
The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz, giving the device faster screen response speed and smoother viewing. 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming minimizes screen flicker, which helps reduce eye strain and provides a more eye-friendly experience, especially in low light.
The ultra-light, ultra-slim and durable foldable smartphone is available now from selected retailers in South Africa or can be purchased from the HUAWEI online store.
