The world’s dumbest hotel housekeeper steals from the world’s dumbest guest at MGM’s Vdara Las Vegas

A housekeeper at MGM’s Vdara in Las Vegas is accused of stealing more than $1 million worth of jewelry from a guest room consisting of “two Rolex watches, one Audemars Piguet watch, one Cartier watch, seven Cuban diamond necklaces, a pair of bracelets, and a “consisted gold ring.”

Here is the story of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumber:

Guests traveled with over $1 million worth of jewelry. They left it unattended in their hotel room. The housekeeper entered the room with her key card. She found the jewelry and took it with her. The woman called someone in prison, whose phone calls are recorded, to discuss the crime. She left the bed half made and left cleaning supplies.

I’m really not sure which party made the worse choice here, other than that the guests will probably get their jewelry back (assuming they are in fact the owners and it’s three men sharing a hotel room – albeit in an “all suite” hotel). (They had over a million dollars worth of jewelry together?) and the housekeeper is likely to be convicted on charges related to the burglary.

If you are the guest, maybe speak to the hotel about storing the jewelry for you? Or at least do without the daily room cleaning and put a “do not disturb” sign in the room?

And if you’re the housekeeper, don’t you take advice from someone in prison (he’s already been caught!)? Oh, and she also called the inmate back multiple times after he committed the crime.
