‘UNLIKELY TO PASS’: Northern Michigan lawmaker introduces abortion ban

Representative Neiul Frisk from Charlevoix presented a new Pro-Life invoice. The package is listed below:

HJR C – Joint Resolution to Amend the Michigan Constitution to Remove the Right to Reproductive Liberty for All (Proposition 3) Amendment to the State Constitution HB 4683 – A Bill to Reinstate the Revised 1931 Prohibition of abortion (with rare exceptions for the life of the mother) (Changes language from “inducing miscarriage” to “abortion”) HB 4684 – A bill to restore the revised ban on the sale of pills Prescription Abortives (Changes language to ban pills strictly for the purpose of abortion) HB 4685 – A bill to reinstate the ban on advertising abortion services HB 4686 – A bill establishing guidelines on criminal conviction for those who violate the above bills Finally, a SIMPLE RESOLUTION declaring proof of life before birth and condemnation of deliberate abortion as murder!

“While unlikely to pass, this package should serve as a guideline for pro-life Republican lawmakers,” Rep. Friske said. “This pro-life model should be the official Republican platform for life, and repealing Proposition 3 and reinstating pro-life laws should be our caucus’ first goal.”

Rep. Friske was grateful to have several Republican co-sponsors on the package. Reps. Maddock, Carra, DeSana, Cavitt, Rigas, Fox, and Alexander joined Rep. Friske on the 4 Bills, Joint Resolution, and Single Resolution.
